This is a tremendous opportunity for anyone considering building any kind of structure, sculpture, hot tub, oven or other project from clay.  From envisioning to instruction to hands-on learning to a lot of inspiration and fun.

We are so lucky to have Becky with us for a full 10 days Facilitating two Weekend Explorations plus a week of cob instruction & play.

Our first weekend August 9-10 we will build a wood-fired cob hot tub— oh, how fun plus then you get to use it the rest of your Workshop Week.  Ahhhh….

Thinking about your cob Project?  Monday through Wednesday August 11-13 you can Envision Your ob Home or other project.  Really explore what it is you want and what it takes to actually build it.  Envision & Build a Model of your Project, step by step, with Becky's guidance.  More of the nitty-gritties and fun how-tos.

Plus, slide show, Q&A, discussions of what works and what doesn't, and so much more.

Moving on to the 2nd weekend with Becky, August 15-17, we just play as we actually build and sculpt a cob bench with attached oven.  This fun weekend is also the kick-off for our Creativity Week Intensive with multi-talented Liliana Kleiner and oh what a phenomenal week that is also.

If you can possibly make the time to come for all three of Becky’s sessions, it is certainly an experience to spark dreams and make it more clear how to unfold them.

In addition, Becky is available for private consultations for an extra fee. Bring your questions, plans, ideas, and let them flow into reality learning from the woman who has helped create and expand the Cob Movement on several continents.  This is truly an incredible opportunity.

Please note that there is an additional fee for each of Becky’s workshops—an extra $100 is included in the sliding scale for the Week 19 Cob Intensive and an extra $50 is included in the sliding scale for attending just the Weekend Exploration.  There is also a combined 10-day rate. Please be as generous as your resources allow.

 What is Cob?

Cob is best described as mud daubing. Earth, sand, and straw are mixed together and massaged onto the foundation, creating thick, long lasting, load bearing walls. It's like hand building a giant pot to live in. Furniture, alcoves, fireplaces, and shelves can be sculpted in as you build. Foundation options include dry stone walls, mortared stone, or concrete.

You may choose your roof from many possibilities. Natural earthen plaster and paints give the walls a lovely personal finish.   Foundation options include dry stone walls, mortared stone, or concrete.

A range of beds, benches and shelving

For thousands of years people have been living in earth homes. The best part is, it's affordable and you can build the house yourself. It's fun, and your creation can last hundreds of years.

Becky Bee has built natural structures in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, South America and Samoa. Her Company 'Groundworks', has been at the forefront of the cob revival: building, teaching workshops, and hosting natural building symposiums

"I believe that building with cob is a way to recreate community and experience the joy of working together while taking back the right to build our own homes and look after our Mother Earth."

She loves doing something that makes sense in a world where lots of things don't.

NOTE
